MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) - Jeffrey D. Feltman, United National undersecretary general for political affairs will give the Ball State University's spring commencement address on Saturday.
Feltman is a 1981 BSU alumnus. During the commencement, he will receive an honorary doctor of laws degree.
In his more than two decade career, Feltman served as a former U.S. ambassador to Lebanon, and oversaw effort to prevent conflict around the world. He is now retired from the Department of State.
He has received the Secretary of State's Distinguished Service award in 2012, given to him by Hilary Clinton. He received the President's Distinguished Service Award and received the Senior Foreign Service Performance Award (eight times). Colin Powell presented him with the Department of State's James Clement Dunn Award for Excellence in 2003.
