INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indiana Pacers season opens Tuesday night at home against the Orlando Magic; tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Expectations are high for the Pacers this season after making it to the Eastern Conference Finals last year for the first time in nearly a decade.
They lost that series in Game 7 to the Miami Heat.
“To see not only the team that got to Game 7 last year and won Game 6 against Miami in this building in one of the best crowds that I think the city's ever seen, it'll be exciting to see that group come back but also to see a lot of new faces,” Pacers head coach Frank Vogel said at Monday’s practice.
All five starters from the 2013 Playoffs are returning, along with some new faces.
Larry Bird is also back in the front office.
“The year that we had last year, first time for a lot of us being that far in our careers,” Pacers forward Paul George said. “We are excited. It's an overwhelming feeling to start the year off, and it's one of those not going to be able to sleep tonight type of deal for myself.”
Tickets are still available, ranging in price from $5 - $265 each.
