INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A regional Delta Airlines jet landed safely at Indianapolis International Airport Tuesday afternoon.
Delta flight 5946 with 44 passengers and three crew members on board the jet landed safely just before 4 p.m. after the pilot called in saying it would be landing with a possible emergency. The jet was leaving Chicago and headed toward LaGuardia Airport when it diverted to Indianapolis because of steering problems.
Indianapolis Airport Officials said they had fire crews positioned and waited on the plane to land.
Mechanics checked out the plane on the tarmac and didn't find any immediate issues with the plane.
The plane was towed to a gate where passengers and crew deplaned to wait for another plane.
