KOKOMO, Ind. (AP) - A proposed plea agreement has been reached with a central Indiana man who prosecutors say killed a friend and stuffed his body inside an unplugged freezer.
The agreement filed with a Howard County court calls for 53-year-old Walter Logan of Kokomo to plead guilty to felony charges of reckless homicide and cocaine possession. The Kokomo Tribune reports prosecutors would drop murder charges if a judge accepts the plea deal during an Oct. 9 hearing.
Logan has been jailed since his December arrest in connection with the death of 29-year-old Alex Shipp. Logan faces a 20-year prison sentence under the plea agreement.
Court documents say Logan told investigators that after a fight he bound Shipp's hands and feet and placed duct tape over his nose and mouth.
