BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Indiana Conservation officers say a 70-year-old man died in a southern Indiana reservoir after he lost consciousness while sitting in his kayak and rolled into the water.
The officers say David Kortenhoeven of Schererville was pulled out of a remote area of Monroe Reservoir about 1:45 p.m. Friday.
A fellow kayaker and a hiker pulled him from the water and administered CPR until emergency responders arrived. He was pronounced death at the scene shortly after 3 p.m.
An autopsy will be performed by the Monroe County Coroner's Office.
