JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Authorities in Johnson County say a traffic accident has left one person dead and another injured Saturday evening.
The Johnson County Sheriff's Office says deputies were called to State Road 37 just south of Smith Valley Road shortly before 5 p.m. to the report of an accident.
Deputies say a Harley Davidson was heading north on SR 37 in the fast lane, carrying the operator and a passenger.
According to a release, the motorcyclist tried to change into the slow lane when contact was made with a Chevrolet pick up truck in that slow lane. The motorcycle lost control, ejecting both the male and female on the bike.
Both were taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital. The female was listed in critical condition when she was taken from the scene.
The woman later passed away at the hospital.
Alcohol is not believed to have played a role in the crash, although authorities are still waiting on blood test results.
The victims name have not been released.
