COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) - The Bartholomew County Sheriff's Merit Board will decide next week whether or not one of its deputies will keep his job.
24-Hour News 8 news partner The Republic reports Robbie Amos, 59, was put onadministrative leave after he violated departmental rules. He allegedly shot the Hartsville Town Marshal with a gel-filled bullet during a training exercise on Feb. 18.
The board's next meeting is at 5:30 p.m. Monday and is a closed meeting. A public meeting will be on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Amos is a 38-year law enforcement veteran.
Police say a person was shot and killed on the west side of Indianapolis Wednesday afternoon.
