GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) - A Greenwood teen was killed in a mo-ped accident early Monday morning.
The accident happened about 8:30 a.m. on U.S. 31 in Franklin, 24-Hour News 8's news partners at the Daily Journal report. Officials say a driver, attempting to turn into a bank, struck the teen.
Officials say the victim was 15 years old. His name has not yet been released.
The teen was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Indiana State Police officials are reminding the public that abandoned vehicles left on interstates will be towed before this week's winter weather arrives.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for Central Indiana through Friday night. Southern counties will be under a winter storm warning beginning Thursday night through Friday night.
