JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A pedestrian was struck by a car in the Whiteland area Saturday afternoon. That pedestrian later died from his injuries.
Officials were sent to Emerson Ave., just north of 600 North on report of a pedestrian struck. Police determined that a 33-year-old driver had struck the man with her vehicle.
Witnesses say it looked as if the man's body was thrown 40 or 50 feet in the air.
Officers say 19-year-old Tyler Deputy was transported to Methodist Hospital via medical helicopter. However, he later died as a result of his injuries.
The driver is complying with police at this time. A blood draw was taken from her and results are pending.
Update: According to the Lafayette Police Department, Lafayette area schools have been checked and the threat has been deemed not credible and lockdown lifted.
A disbarred attorney and former South Bend city council member convicted of forging the names of other lawyers on court documents won't be spending any time in prison unless he gets in further trouble.
The federal Environmental Protection Agency has added sites in South Bend, Indianapolis and Garden City to its national priorities list of Superfund sites.
