JACKSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - A 17-year-old Seymour resident was killed Wednesday when a car crashed into the White River in Jackson County.
The accident occurred just after 5 p.m. on County Road 250 E near Shieldstown when a Mitsubishi left the roadway and inverted in the White River.
Two males, 18 and 19, escaped through the broken windows of the car and called 911.
Divers quickly responded to the scene.
A wrecker removed the car from the water. Brooke Hawn, 17, was found deceased in the car.
An autopsy will reveal the official cause of death.
