GREENWOOD, Ind. (WISH) - Officials say a planned project on Worthsville Road in Greenwood will transform the area as well as bring many firsts.
According to our partners at the Daily Journal, Greenwood will get its first road that features a tree-lined median through the project.
Greenwood officials say they are attempting to build a boulevard, not just a larger street. Additionally, Greenwood's first stand-alone trailhead will be built at the site of a former concrete plant.
At the trailhead, locals will be able to use walkways on both sides of the road.
Officials say their goal is to make Worthsville Road a new entrance area into the city. Therefore, they want to make the area more attractive to visitors coming off the new I-65 exit.
