INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - It was a beautiful morning for the south side's annual Miracle Mile Parade.
University of Indianapolis President Robert Manuel served as Grand Marshal along with his family.
The parade is the centerpiece of Gateway Fest, a community celebration of seven neighborhoods that make up Indy's near south side.
Organizers say it's a great way to show what that area has to offer.
“It's a tremendous way for us to say there is wholesome family life located on the southside of indianapolis. People just drive through the area sometimes and don't realize just what's here,” said David Wantz with the University of Indianapolis.
At 7 p.m. Saturday, family could head to Garfield Park for free concerts and even a fireworks show, weather permitting.
Snow that moved through Central Indiana this week has wrapped up, leaving some areas with more than 10 inches of snow.
