FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) - UPDATE 6:45 p.m.: Police in Louisville have located 8-year-old Sophia Snow and her mother Jennifer Ansari.
Police say Ansari surrendered to LMPD and was cooperative. The two were located in a home.
Ansari was arrested and taken to Metro Corrections on a warrant out of Indiana for Custodial Interference.
The child, Sophia, is safe and unharmed, police say.
An arrest warrant has been issued for the mother accused of taking her child, resulting in an Amber Alert.
An Amber Alert was issued Tuesday night for Sophia Snow. Fishers Police Department officials said Jennifer Ansari, the girl's mother, took the girl after realizing she was losing custody to her ex-boyfriend.
“I don't know what to do. It's like you're in a rock and a hard place. If you tell her to turn herself in they're going to take the child away and send her straight to Florida,” said Raymond Wagner, Jennifer’s father.
On Wednesday, the Hamilton County prosecutor's office issued an arrest warrant for Ansari. She's charged with interference with custody, a Class D felony.
“We are concerned (for) the safety of the child because the child is not where she's supposed to be. She's not in school and it does appear that the mother is intentionally violating this court order,” said Tom Weger, Fishers Police Department public information officer.
Ansari was last seen driving a 2012 burgundy Honda Civic.
Although Sophia was last seen on Friday, the Amber Alert was issued Tuesday because that was the court-ordered date for Sophia to be handed over to her father. When Sophia wasn't handed over, the police department requested an Amber Alert.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department say a 3-year-old child was shot in the arm Friday.
Police say a 2-year-old and a 23-year-old Navy sailor from Missouri were killed in a crash on Interstate 64 in southern Indiana near Corydon.
