AVON, Ind. (WISH) - An Avon woman almost threw away a winning lottery ticket worth $100,000.
Tonya Raines bought her Hoosier Lottery ticket Tuesday morning at the Circle K located at 6995 East Highway 36 in Avon.
Raines says she was in a hurry on her way to work when she scratched most, but not all, of her ticket, according to a release.
She says the ticket didn’t look like a winner, so she tossed the ticket to the side and went to work, forgetting about it until the next day.
Raines says she was cleaning out her car the next day, saw the ticket, and decided to scratch the rest of it off.
"I'm glad I scratched it all the way!" she said.
She celebrates her 50th birthday Monday.
