INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The search is on for two people police say tried to abduct a teen Friday morning.
The 19-year old mother told 24-Hour News 8 she had just left work when she was first approached near the 83-hundred block of Ditch road near Michigan Road.
She said she feared she would never see her family again.
That family includes her 9-month-old daughter and husband.
She says she got off work around 11 p.m. Thursday night.
When her ride home didn't show she started to walk.
“I was walking and I had just passed up a church. I crossed the street and I felt a van come up behind me and I didn’t think anything of it,” Tatianna Diaz said. “The lady started telling me 'hey, hey come here.' So I started walking faster.”
Diaz told police she was approached two more times by the same couple in a minivan. She said a man was driving and a woman was in the passenger seat.
“I was really scared. She would reach out and try to grab me,” Diaz said.
“She was a skinny white woman with long hair. Her hands were like really slippery when she would grab me they would just slide off.”
The 19-year-old got away and made it to a near-by apartment complex where a security guard called 911.
The entire time all she thought about was her little girl.
Her daughter is a big reason why Diaz works second shift.
“I work two jobs to support my daughter and to help my husband,” she said.
Friday, Diaz’s family let her borrow a car to drive to work.
