SHARPSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Members of Tipton County's Young Farmers group are donating a portion of their harvest to help feed local families in need.
The donations to the Encore Food Pantry are part of the "Hoppers for the Hungry" program.
The Young Farmers program donated $2,900 to the food pantry in 2013. The program is sponsored by the Indiana Farm Bureau.
Chairman Brady Peters tells the Kokomo Tribune that the group wants to exceed that fundraising total in coming years and expand the program to additional pantries.
