INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Foyt family has been a part of racing at the Indianapolis500 for more than 50 years, but this year a family feud involvingthe Foyts have kept one of their cars out of the race.
A.J. Foyt IV had hoped to be in this weekend's field, running inthe #41 car, but a dispute between him and his grandfather causedhim to quit on Bump Day after the morning practice session.
24 Hour News 8's racing analyst Derek Daly asked the youngerFoyt about the incident on Tuesday night and if he has spoken tohis grandfather since.
"No, I haven't spoken to him. Everybody knows my grandfather.He's a bit hot-headed. He can be a bit hard-headed and maybe I gotthat from him too a little bit. So, maybe that's why we haven'ttalked," Foyt IV said. "But, hopefully we work it out prettysoon. It's been tough couple days just having to sit back at homeand not going out to the track anymore. And now, I've turned into aspectator."
Foyt IV was hosting an event to promote his new wine label.
As it stands Wednesday, there will be no FEMA aid for tornado survivors in Howard County.
