INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The gates at Indianapolis Motor Speedway opened early Friday morning.
The annual hauler parade took place Thursday night in Speedway.
Friday, NASCAR nationwide and Sprint Cup drivers will hit the track for practice.
There will also be a special Kid Zone, autograph sessions with racing celebrities, and live music at the track.
Wristband distribution for the autograph sessions begin at 8 a.m. in the Plaza.
The president of IMS says with the exception of the Daytona 500, this is the race drivers want to win, so "it should be a fun weekend."
Friday, the man who this year's race was named after, joined us live on Daybreak to talk about the honor.
