INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Driver Alex Lloyd made it to the finish of Sunday's Indianapolis500. So did his wife.
Samantha Lloyd watched from pit road as her husband raced,despite contractions that were 10 minutes apart shortly after therace began. Sunday was her due date to give birth to the couple'ssecond daughter.
Alex Lloyd finished the race in 13th place, and his wife headedback to their motor home to consult with her doctor.
Samantha Lloyd said she felt well at the end of the race. Butshe appeared relieved it was over as she hugged her husband afterhe climbed out of his car.
"She can come now, that's all right," she said of the baby. "Wemade it through."
