MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) - Ball State is looking to find a replacement for the fired Billy Taylor, and one potential candidate spent the afternoon at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Former IU guard Dane Fife, a Tom Izzo assistant at Michigan State who spent six years as head coach at IPFW, says he knows the state and its talent level very well.
"Indiana is a basketball hotbed. Great high school programs and talent, they just know how to do it," said Fife.
He didn't want to speculate on the Ball State rumors, but likes what he sees.
"I think it's a great job. There are a lot of good jobs out there. It's in a basketball hotbed. It's a great job, no doubt about it. Anybody who gets to play or work in the state of Indiana in basketballs pretty fortunate."
9 P.M. UPDATE: The winter storm warnings have been canceled and most snow is coming to an end. The colder temperatures were starting to move into central Indiana.
