INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - This is the day college football coaching staffs have been working tirelessly for — recruits sending in their letters of intent to officially bind them to their school of choice.
Among area schools, Notre Dame and Indiana University made the biggest splashes. Head coach Brian Kelly at Notre Dame has collected what some experts claim is a top 5 class, while coach Kevin Wilson has broken new ground for the Hoosiers, pulling in some big time prospects.

- Antonio Allen, DB, Ben Davis
- Chase Dutra, DB, Brownsburg
- David Kenney, DL, Pike
- Darius Latham, DL, North Central.
Purdue brought in 23 athletes, including three in-state products — one from the area:
- Danny Etling, QB, Terre Haute South
Ball State signed 21 including three from central Indiana:

- Stu Stanley, LB, Cathedral
- Anthony Winbush, DL, Warren Central
