WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) - Purdue announced today junior forward Sandi Marcius has been granted a release from his scholarship, allowing him to transfer out of the program.
"We have invested four years and significant resources into helping Sandi develop from both an educational and athletic standpoint," Purdue head basketball coach Matt Painter said in a press release today. "Certainly, having Sandi here for a fifth year was in our plans and we anticipated him having a great final year in our program. We wish him the best in his future endeavors."
Marcius graduates in May, so he will not have to sit out a year before playing. He played in 75 games for the Boilermakers, averaging 2.1 points and 2.1 rebounds a game.
