BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) - Hoosier fans gathered at Assembly Hall Thursday morning as part of "Show Your Stripes Day."
A handful wore the popular candy stripe warm up pants, but the majority of men sported their crimson while the women wore cream.
Organizers created a video that is now available to watch on YouTube.
It was an opportunity for Hoosier fans to show pride in their team ahead of Thursday's Sweet 16 match up.
Standing out among the crowd was Richard Zimmerman. The 90-year-old danced with swagger like no other.
"I got a little tired," he said chuckling after the shoot.
Zimmerman said he will watch the game on Thursday from his home.
"The seats are hard; there's no backing," he said. "I'm 90, ya know?"
But watching the game from his Bloomington home is a stark change for the Indiana University 1949 alum who spent 30 years watching the team up close and personal.
"I used to work the ball games," he said noting he was a ticket collector.
Zimmerman is confident future brackets will have IU among the Final Four.
"Once we break the press its smooth sailing," Zimmerman said.
Roy Slaughter said making the video brought back memories from his days as an IU student.
"I had season tickets. I still have programs from the game," the 1979 graduate said. "It feels good to show support for the team. "
Organizer Valerie Pena and other volunteers will spend Thursday afternoon passing out red and white beads, posters and Pom pons. To track their location you can follow @IUBloomington on Twitter.
