INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indianapolis Colts are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a free youth football camp for local children.
The camp runs from Sept. 15 until Oct. 15 at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center. More than 200 children will participate in the camp.
On Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins, the Colts will present the third annual NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award, to Juan Gonzalez, local community leader and financial services professional. Gonzales will be recognized during the pre-game activities.
Gonzales will win a $2,000 donation to an organization of his choice.
On Saturday Sept. 21, the Colts will host FIESTA at the American Legion Mall. At the event, the PLAY 60 Zone will be present so children can do football drills with Colts officials.
The effort is part of a national campaign by the NFL to recognize the contributions of Hispanic leaders in each NFL market.
