INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Colts have traded running back Delone Carter to the Ravens for wide receiver David Reed. Carter has 499 yards rushing and five touchdowns in 26 career games with the Colts. He’s had problems hanging onto the football in his two pro seasons. The Colts selected him in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
“This trade gives us a chance to improve in key areas moving forward,” said Colts general manager Ryan Grigson. “David is a very competitive football player and we welcome his style of play and energy. At the same time, we wish Delone well with his opportunity to play for another first-class organization and we thank him for his efforts.”
Reed has 5 receptions in 29 career games with Baltimore. The Ravens took him out of Utah in the fifth round of the 2010 draft. Reed led the league in average yards per kickoff return as a rookie in 2010 with 29.3.
