INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Saturday morning at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, vintage car collectors were showing off their stuff.
More than 100 classic autos filled the Pagoda Plaza. If you didn't have a chance to stop by, take a quick look at some of the featured contestants in this annual competition. Dick Wolfsie also convinced one of the collectors, Carl Zellers, to give him a ride in his classic car. That car, 102 years old, will carry a very special passenger, but you'll have to check out Sunday morning's show to see who it is.
At the Celebration of Automobiles at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Dick Wolfsie ran into (not literally, of course) several car collectors with magnificent automobiles from the turn of the century.
All these cars were featured in the competition that took place Saturday morning.
But during his visit to IMS, he met one woman who personifies the love of cars. Margaret Dunning, 102 years old and an avid collector, has been driving cars for over 90 years and even remembers her earliest experiences behind the wheel. She is excited to be in Indy this month because she has never seen a 500 race.
In this segment we see her prized 1930 Packard and watch as Margaret gets a ride in another car that is 102 years old, as well. Both the car and Ms. Dunning are in tip-top condition and ready for the month of May.
