Fans can kart around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in May

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway announced Thursday that it is teaming up with former IndyCar driver Sarah Fisher to give fans a chance to drive on a fun road course

The Fan Midway for the month of May will feature a road course for drivers ages 14 and up to drive go-karts around the famous oval. Fisher opened up Speedway Indoor Karting after retiring and says she thinks the experience for fans will be “awesome.”

“I’ve always wanted to drive at IMS, and I just got to drive a go-kart on the front stretch, and you can see how I excited that made me feel and having driven here nine times in the 500 and still being excited to drive a go-kart here, I think it’s going to be really special for our fans to do that, too,” Fisher said. 

There’s a fee for the go-kart experience, but other new features like simulators and virtual reality displays will be available for free. Fan Midway. All attractions in will be open May 11-12, 18-20 and 25-27. Learn more here.
