INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - The Indiana Pacers have been very busy during this off seasonand free agent signing period. On Tuesday Larry Bird and the Blueand Gold introduced veteran NBA guard Earl Watson to Pacerfans.
The Pacers announced on Tuesday they have signed Watson to amulti-year deal, but terms of the contract were not released.
Watson has played 8 years in the NBA and last season played withOklahoma City. He averaged 6.6 points and 5.8 assists per game forthe Thunder.
Watson says he excited to be a part of the Blue and Gold, "It'san amazing feeling to actually come into a new situation, tons ofopportunity, a great chance to actually introduce yourself to thecity and to the state. It's gonna be fun, it's gonna be exciting tobe playing with different players, you know, different skill sets,and as a point guard, you have great shooters, it's the greatestgift you can have besides a gift on Christmas. So you never knowwhat could happen with that tons of things could fall into place.But it's gonna be exciting, especially where this organization isheaded, it's a great opportunity."
“We’re very glad to have Earl as part of ourteam,” said Pacers President of Basketball Larry Bird.“I’ve been watching him for years. He’s a solidpoint guard that we know can help us on the defensiveend.”
