INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Bankers Life Fieldhouse was buzzing Friday morning as the Indiana Pacers held their annual Media Day.
The Pacers come off a successful past season making it to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in nearly a decade.
They have big expectations for the upcoming season. The big topic at Media Day revolved around Danny Granger’s comeback from his 2013 season-ending knee injury.
“It’s a confidence thing, a lot of the battle comes in your head as far as can you do the things you used to do? Will you be confident in pushing off? Do you want to get that rebound, do you not want to cut off of it?" Granger said. "Those are all the hurdles that players have to face when coming off of a significant knee injury, so that’s probably going to be my biggest hurdle to work on.”
Head coach Frank Vogel commented on the battle for the starting position between Danny Granger and Lance Stephenson.
“The team comes first; your goal is to be the best you can be," Vogel said. "You contribute at the highest level and to be willing to accept whatever role is best for the team and both guys are 100 percent on board with that.”
The Pacers will match up against Orlando for their first game of the year on Oct. 29 at home.
Employees at some Indianapolis fast food restaurants will take part in a 100-city strike Thursday morning.
Police dispatchers in Hancock County say two medical helicopters were called to the scene of a crash late Wednesday night.
SWAT members were called to the city's northwest side Wednesday night.
