INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - More construction is kicking off Tuesday on the near east side of downtown, along 10th and Gray streets.
The new work is part of the Super Bowl Legacy project.
Work will start on Clifford Corners. It's a $7 million, three-level mixed-use development.
The plan is for the building to feature apartments, condominiums, commercial retail and community space.
The final design plans for the Legacy Plaza project will also be unveiled Tuesday. The plaza is a $650,000 space. It will be located across the street from the Clifford Corners site.
The Legacy Plaza is set to become a flexible outdoor market space that includes trees, an outdoor performance stage and a garden.
"Why this is important to us is because I think this project really shows that the legacy project continues well beyond a Sunday two weeks from now," said James Taylor with the Legacy Project.
The near east side is getting $154 million for the Super Bowl Legacy project. The idea behind the project is to help change the way the area looks and give residents more affordable housing options.
Saturday morning, Wishard Memorial Hospital will close its doors.
Snow that moved through Central Indiana this week has wrapped up, leaving some areas with more than 10 inches of snow.
Free bags of salt will be available to the public Saturday after snow moved through Central Indiana this week.
