Cold night; much warmer days ahead

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Much anticipated spring-like weather is set to arrive this weekend. Plenty of sunshine and warmer weather is on the way.

Thursday Night:

Clear skies and cool temperatures are expected through the overnight hours tonight. You’ll be able to get away with a light jacket if heading out early this evening, but grab the heavier coat if heading out later tonight. Winds die down this evening, but a cool northerly breeze will bring temperatures into the low 30s overnight.

As a result of the cooler temperatures tonight, a Freeze Warning has been issued for communities mainly south of the I-70 corridor. Be sure to bring in or cover any plants during the overnight hours tonight.

Friday:

A beautiful Friday is on the way for central Indiana. Expect abundant sunshine throughout the day and for temperatures to reach into the upper 50s during the afternoon.

Saturday:

The weekend will start rather nice, as we will wake up to sunny skies Saturday morning. Temperatures will flirt with the lower 60s in some spots during the afternoon, before some clouds roll in Saturday evening.

8-Day Forecast:

A nice pattern change is in store for the extended forecast. After a mild weekend, expect the next week to follow the same theme. Warm temperatures are expected for Monday, before a brief mid-week cool down. Showers are possible for the middle of the week.
