Cooler night, warmer Thursday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Temperatures slide into the 30s overnight.  Near normal temperatures on tap for Thursday, with 70s still slated for next week.

Tonight:

For many, clouds will slowly decrease across the area – especially for our northern counties.  Mostly cloudy skies will likely remain for our far southern counties.

As a result, temperatures will run colder to the north.  A light breeze overnight should prevent widespread front north of Indy, but some patchy frost will be possible, as lows dip to the middle to upper 30s for most.

Thursday:

Good looking day in the forecast.  Lots of sunshine and near normal temperatures, with highs in the middle 60s.

Friday:

Looking dry for the day, despite a weak cold front pushing through the area.  Expect a mix of sun and clouds, with highs in the lower 60s.

Another boundary moving through Friday night may squeeze out a few isolated showers for our northern counties, but again, not much moisture to play with should lead to most areas remaining dry.

Weekend:

We’ve scaled the temperatures back a bit, but we remain dry, with slightly below average temperatures both Saturday and Sunday.

It should be noted that the coldest temperature on the extended forecast will come Saturday night into Sunday morning, where many areas could get down to the freezing mark – so an early heads up for those of you that may need to protect any tender vegetation.

8 Day Forecast:
Dry stretch and big (and welcomed) warm up still in play for the new work week.  70s should return as early as Monday, and we could make a run at 80° by Tuesday of next week.
