Great holiday travel weather ahead of a soggy weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Good Wednesday morning, everyone! If you’re getting ready to head out the door and hit the road, be it to work, school or for Thanksgiving travel, you will have no weather worries!

Temperatures will slowly climb from the upper 20s into the low 40s this afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds.

With mostly clear skies late this evening, temperatures will slowly sink into the low 30s by midnight and eventually into the mid 20s by Thanksgiving morning.

Outside of the cold start, our holiday looks very nice.

With a sun and clouds mix, high temperatures this Thanksgiving will top out in the low to mid 40s with 50s southwest of town.

If you have travel plans on the holiday itself, you will not have anything to worry about outside of making sure you don’t spill any food on the way to your destination!

Temperatures will go on the rise through the later half of the week and into the weekend.

Along with rising temps will come rising rain chances with a fairly wet weekend ahead.

Our Saturday will start off pretty soggy, so if you are heading to Bloomington for this year’s Old Oaken Bucket rivalry game v. Purdue, keep the rain gear handy.

Sunday will not be much better, though most of the rain looks to hold off until Sunday evening.

High temps this weekend will top out in the low 50s.

Behind our next big weathermaker Sunday, temperatures will sink quickly. With the cold air draining in, a wintry mix with little to no accumulation is likely Monday with clearing skies and cold temps again for the middle of next week.
