Hot now, but relief in sight

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)– After a string of very hot and humid days, relief is in sight as a cold front eventually moves through dropping temperatures to near average for the middle of the work week.

TONIGHT:

Scattered showers and storms continue to work their way through portions of north-central Indiana. They will continue into the early evening hours before diminishing as we lose the heating of the day.

The Storm Prediction Center has outlined a marginal risk of severe storms for most of the state tonight. Some storms could be on the stronger side with damaging wind and hail possible. The severe threat winds down considerably overnight.

Lows will dip into the 70s for most of the state

TOMORROW:

We will start the day on a milder note with temperatures in the mid-70s before making it into the low 80s by lunchtime

Scattered storms will be possible once again, especially into the afternoon hours. They are associated with a stalled cold front in our northern counties.

Temperatures will be closer to average with highs in the mid-80s.

THURSDAY:

Scattered showers and storms possible, becoming much more widespread into the evening and overnight hours.

Heading into the second half of the work week, temperatures will be much milder and closer to our average high of 83°. Thursday’s highs will top out in the upper 70s to near 80°.

Scattered showers and storms will be likely for the remainder of the week, especially on Friday. Most of the day looks to be soggy with better rain chances into the early afternoon hours.

The weekend looks generally dry with an isolated shower or two possible on Saturday. Temperatures will be very close to average in the lower 80s.

Temperatures will warm back up once again as we head into next week. After the weekend, rain chances will wind down until the middle of the week.
