More strong storm chances for Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An active and steamy pattern will continue as we close down the weekend.

Expect another round of 90-degree heat in central Indiana. Before storms roared into the area Saturday afternoon, we hit 90 degrees in Indy — the third day in a row and the sixth time so far this season.  Expect more muggy conditions as we head into Sunday.

TONIGHT:

The strongest portions of storms have likely worked themselves out, but could see a few showers with a rumble of thunder possible through late Saturday night.

Like previous overnights, showers and storms will diminish with the loss of daytime heating.  It should be dry heading into daybreak Sunday.

Lows fall to the middle to upper 60s.

SUNDAY:

Same story, different day. A warm and muggy start to the morning will give way to hot and humid afternoon conditions, with scattered showers and storms.

Like the past several days, any storm that develops will have the potential to contain large hail and damaging winds. A marginal risk for severe storms is in place Sunday for all of central Indiana.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)

Highs will top out in the middle to upper 80s.

MONDAY:

Another hot and humid day on tap, with the potential for strong to severe storms in the afternoon and evening hours.  A marginal risk for severe storms is in play Monday. Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary concern.

Highs will hit the upper 80s to around 90.

8 DAY FORECAST:

We will look to Tuesday for a break in our sizzling pattern. A cold front will bust through the Midwest, which will spark showers and storms to the area Tuesday afternoon and evening. Once that system clears, less humidity and slightly cooler air settles in for Wednesday. A slight chance for storms will return to the forecast Thursday and Friday, but temperatures, while warm, should be a bit more comfortable than what we have had the past few days.
