Rain chances tonight, scattered storms this weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Best chance for rain over the past few days rolls in tonight.  Scattered shower and storm chances will be around through the weekend.

Tonight:

Upper level system moving through the area will help to bring better chances and coverage of rain to central Indiana for the evening hours.  A few rumbles of thunder will be possible.  Rain chances will turn more spotty by mid overnight to near daybreak, Saturday.

Lows dip to the lower to middle 60s.

Saturday:

Upper level system slowly pulls away from the area, but still close enough to spark light showers to the area for the morning.

Scattered showers and storms will be around with the heating of the day for the afternoon, which means anyone at anytime could see a brief downpour, but the day shouldn’t be a washout.

Highs top out in the upper 70s and lower 80s.

Sunday:

could see a few shower and storms moving through Sunday morning, before catching a break for mid day.  Surface system pushes through the state for the afternoon, which will aid in the potential development for a few strong storms.

There is a marginal risk for severe storms across the area, Sunday.  Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary concern.

Temperatures will turn much warmer, and humidity higher, as boundary lifts to our north.  Highs reach the middle to upper 80s.

8 Day Forecast:

Heat rolls on to start off the work week, along with spotty shower/storm chances for Monday and Tuesday.  We appear to dry out for the second half of the week, with highs in the middle 80s Wednesday through Friday.
