Rain changing to snow for some overnight

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Another quick dose of winter tonight, as some areas pick up a mix of rain and snow during the overnight hours.

Tonight:

Quick moving boundary pushes through central Indiana this evening.  We’ll likely pick up on some scattered light showers moving through central Indiana during the early evening hours.

Winds will pick up as the system moves through, with gust between 30-40mph at times.

Colder air funnels in behind the system, so we’ll likely see rain mixing with snow through the late evening hours, and potentially all snow for the overnight.  No accumulation is expected.

Overnight lows fall to the middle to upper 30s.

Thursday:

Can’t rule out a few light snow showers or flurries as we start off the day, otherwise we’re mostly cloudy to start, with a decent amount of sun to finish the day.

Highs top out in the lower 50s.

Friday:

Might be starting the morning off with another round of freezing temperatures.  Despite that, we should rebound our high temperatures nicely by the afternoon, topping out in the upper 50s to around 60°.

8 Day Forecast:

We might actually be turning a corner starting this weekend.  Both Saturday and Sunday look dry, with highs in the lower 60s.  Temperatures rebound closer to average for the new work week, topping out in the middle 60s.  Only precipitation chance in the extended is  Tuesday morning, with some light spotty rain chances moving through.
