Severe storms possible both tonight and Monday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Strong storms are still possible this evening, especially in southern Indiana, so stay weather aware.

A MARGINAL Risk is in place for most areas south of the I-70 corridor, meaning an isolated storm or two could become severe. Thunderstorms are likely within the area as well, whether they are severe or not.

TIMING: The best chances for strong to severe storms will likely begin to develop by early evening, 6-8 p.m. and will become more widespread closer to sunset tonight — 8-9 p.m. Showers and storms will continue through the early overnight before we catch a break through early morning.

THREATS: Severe storms tonight will be capable of producing large hail and damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 mph.

Another threat for severe storms, a SLIGHT Risk, is in place for Monday. Damaging wind, hail and even a tornado or two are possible.
