Snow, rain, freezing rain possible Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — After some sunshine, clouds will increase Saturday night ahead of our next storm system.

Light snow begins around daybreak Sunday.

By lunchtime, warmer air moves a little farther north, changing the light snow to a rain-snow mix in Indianapolis.

Later in the afternoon, some areas may see pockets of light freezing rain. Little to no ice accumulation is expected.

Temperatures will start in the upper 20s Sunday morning and climb into the middle 30s by the afternoon. Highs range from lower 30s north to lower 40s in the southern part of the state.

As far as accumulation, about 1 inch, maybe as much as 2 inches, will be possible north of Interstate 70. Areas in and around Indianapolis will probably see about half an inch due to the precipitation mixing during the afternoon.

On Monday, the clouds will hang around but will begin to break up later in the afternoon.

Temperatures will stay below normal for the first few days but climb into the 40s for late next week and next weekend.

It will be dry on Monday and Tuesday with a chance for a rain-snow mix on Wednesday. Next weekend a storm system moves in and brings rain to much of the area.
