Storms winding down with milder temperatures this weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)– After a soggy couple of days, drier conditions will work into the area by the end of the weekend with warmer temperatures on the horizon.

Our Thursday ended on a very wet note with many places east of the metro receiving upwards of an inch of rainfall into the afternoon and evening hours. The metro picked up a little over six-tenths of an inch of rain.

TONIGHT: Scattered showers and storms will continue throughout the rest of this evening and into the very early overnight hours. After about midnight, rain chances diminish with a very isolated shower or two possible early Saturday morning.

Low temperatures will bottom out in the low to mid-60s across the state.

TOMORROW: Temperatures will start out in the mid to upper 60s with an isolated shower or two possible.

We’ll keep the chance for isolated showers throughout the day. However, most of the day should hold a fair amount of dry time with generally cloudy conditions expected.

High temperatures to start the first weekend of summer will be slightly below average and in the upper 70s.

SUNDAY: A beautiful Sunday is on tap with sunny skies and high temperatures in the low 80s! It will be a perfect day to get out and enjoy!

Clear and calm conditions are expected for the evening and overnight hours. Low temperatures will be in the low to mid-60s.

MONDAY: The heat returns to start the new work week with high temperatures in the upper 80s. Most of the day should be pleasant with dry conditions and sunny skies expected.

MIDWEEK: The heat and humidity will really ramp up as we head into Tuesday and the middle of the week. Highs on Tuesday should top out near 90 degrees, and we will finish the week likely in the low 90s. Heat indices will likely be in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees during the later half of the week. Shower and storm chances also return to end the week.
