Stormy start to week, summer heat to return next weekend

SUNDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy skies Sunday evening with an overnight low in the mid 60s.

Scattered showers and storms will be mostly south of I-70 on Sunday night going into Monday morning.

MONDAY: A chance for showers will remain mainly in the southern portion of Indiana. Monday morning, Indianapolis will have a chance for storms near the downtown area, but will clear out around noon.

The high will be 85° with mostly cloudy skies throughout the day. There is a marginal severe threat for the southwestern portion of the state with a threat for damaging wind and hail.

The low Monday into Tuesday will be 67° with cloudy conditions overnight.

TUESDAY: The high for Tuesday will be in the lower 80s, but better rain chances will be in place.

A slight to marginal severe threat is predicted over the northwestern portion with damaging wind and hail being the main threat again.

Storms will be scattered all day but the best chances will be during the early afternoon and late evening hours. The low will be around 70° with a chance of storms remaining overnight.

8-DAY FORECAST: Our best storm chances will move through both Tuesday and Wednesday before rain chances drop off through the second half of the work week.

Starting Thursday, we will exchange the rain for warmer temperatures.

Plan for a hot weekend coming up with temperatures in the mid 90s and continuing into next week. With high humidity, feels-like temperatures will climb near or above the 100° mark by the end of next week and next weekend. Stay cool!
