RUSHVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - A Rushville, Ind. man was airlifted to the hospital after he fell from a tree, officials say.
Police officials say 51-year-old Jay Carpenter was seriously injured after falling about 15 feet feet. He was reportedly removing a tree from his yard.
Our partners at the Rushville Republican report Carpenter was unrestrained in the bow of the tree after having cutting a large branch when it swung back and struck the man, causing him to lose his balance and fall.
Neighbors say they could hear the fall.
Carpenter was airlifted to an Indianapolis trauma center.
