INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Dozens of people were on hand Saturday at Carroll Stadium at IUPUI for a soccer exhibition to honor Felix Achoch.
Achoch was a 21 year-old Ivy Tech student who was brutally attacked and beaten inside a west side club July 22nd.
He died 8 days after the attack.
Achoch was set to try out for the Indy Eleven Pro Soccer team on July 25th.
Organizers called Saturday's event Football for Felix to honor his love for soccer. People who knew him created the event to help underprivileged children achieve their dreams.
"We all felt compelled to do something to honor him; honor his name and to capture his dreams and aspirations of what he was really trying to accomplish is what we are all passionate about. We all love soccer," Organizer Leonce Jean-Baptiste said.
All proceeds from the event were given to the Felix Achoch Sports Foundation.
Weather models are lining up better and better, so the Forecast 8 team is confident enough to start putting snow projections for the winter weather through Friday night.
