KOKOMO, Ind. (Kokomo Tribune) - One of two teenagers injured in a Kokomo hit-and-run Thursday evening has died from his injuries.
Christian Reede, 13, was driving a mo-ped on Center Road when a white Ford SUV-type truck hit him head on, 24-Hour News 8's news partner The Kokomo Tribune reports.
The truck, described as possibly a Ford Escape or Mercury Mariner, was heading west on Center Road and was turning south onto Highland Springs Drive when the crash occurred.
Police say the truck continued south on Highland Springs Drive and fled the scene.
Reede died Friday evening. A passenger on the mo-ped remained in the hospital in good condition.
Initial reports revealed police were looking for a possible late model white Ford truck.
Police determined from evidence at the scene that vehicle was possibly a white 2005 to 2007 Ford Escape or Mercury Mariner, possibly missing a right front fog lamp and missing a right front inner fender well.
The suspect vehicle should also have front-end damage.
