INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Sunday's matchup between the Colts and the 49ers presents some sibling rivalry.
Colts' cornerback Vontae Davis faces off against his older brother Vernon, a tight end for the 49ers. Oddly enough, it will be the first time ever that the brothers have played with or against each other in a game.
“I never tackled him before. Ever,” Vontae told 24-Hour News 8. “He was always older and much bigger than I was, so this is my first opportunity. I'm excited. I love my brother. It's just one of those things. May the best man win.”
Head Coach Chuck Pagano had some words of wisdom for Vontae.
"He needs to focus on being the best right corner in the National Football League on Sunday," said Pagano. "That’s what he needs to focus on and he’ll do that."
The younger Davis told reporters this week he planned on having dinner with his older brother and family before Sunday's game, hoping to talk about anything but football.
