Innovation Showcase names award winners

Twelve Indiana startups pitched judges to try to win the 13th Annual Innovation Showcase held Wednesday at the NCAA Hall of Champions. The Venture Club of Indianapolis presented a total of $24,000 to five top winners.

Patrick Industries acquires Tumacs Covers

Elkhart-based Patrick Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: PATK) has completed its acquisition of Tumacs Covers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Tumacs makes custom boat covers, canvas frames and other marine products in facilities in Pennsylvania and Indiana.

FAA proposes fines against Indy charter operator

An Indianapolis charter plane carrier faces millions in fines by the Federal Aviation Administration for allegedly directing illegal charter flights. The FAA has proposed more than $2.1 million in fines against Indy Jet Management LLC and associated parties.

Indiana Historical Society issues grants

Eighteen local historical societies from across the state will benefit from grants from the Indiana Historical Society. The IHS issued more than $500,000 from its Heritage Support Grants program to the organizations in 15 Indiana counties.

Butler names new facility after alumnus

Butler University will name one of its newest facilities after Bill and Joanne Dugan in recognition of a $7 million multi-year gift. The funding will support the 2019-built facility which houses the Lacy School of Business, the Butler Beyond Transformation Lab and the Office of Career and Professional Success.

Notre Dame grows global health degree program

The University of Notre Dame is expanding its Master of Science in Global Health program to help students with interdisciplinary careers to help address worldwide health issues. The university says the new, two-year program is a partnership among the Eck Institute for Global Health, Notre Dame College of Science and the Keough School of Global Affairs.
