Hicks: brick-and-mortar store closings a ‘natural evolution’

As online shopping outlets continue to offer a wider variety of products than stores can physically stock, Ball State Economist Mike Hicks says the closing of brick-and-mortar retailers is part of a “natural evolution.” On the heels of the announced closure of the Macy store at Muncie Mall, leaving JCPenny as the once-popular mall’s sole anchor store, Hicks says this trend isn’t declining anytime soon.

Downtown Noblesville parking pilot set to begin

Noblesville drivers will tomorrow see updates from the city’s parking ordinance in action. The changes include expanded hours of enforcement, location of free and time-restricted spaces and new short-duration spots.

VU completes resource center renovation

Vincennes University has officially completed an $8 million renovation of its Curtis G. Shake Learning Resource Center. The university will tomorrow host an open house and rededication to commemorate the improved student hub.
