INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Each week in Community Link, Carolene Mays-Medley and Marco Dominguez take a look at an organization or business that is making a positive impact on the community.
The Hispanic community in Indianapolis has been growing tremendously during the last 50 years. In Indiana, there were many pioneers who helped the general community understand who Latinos were and led the community to where it is today.
Charlie Garcia, president of CGA Garcia Associates, is one of those pioneers.
“I think as we progressed, primarily from an increase in population if you will, at that time we (the Latino population) were maybe 2%, today estimates are 12 to 15, I think it’s more like 18 or 20 and growing,” said Garcia.
