Community Link: Doctor on minority COVID-19 vaccination rates

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Each week in Community Link, Carolene Mays-Medley and Marco Dominguez take a look at an organization or business that is making a positive impact on the community.

Even though Blacks and Latinos have higher rates of sickness and death from COVID-19, these ethnic groups are receiving COVID vaccinations at dramatically lower rates than white people.

Dr. Eric Yancy was this week’s Community Link guest.

He discussed some of the major issues for Black and other ethnic minorities not getting the COVID-19 vaccine and whether it’s due to a lack of access, a mistrust or fear.

Additionally, he talked about some of the things being done to overcome these concerns.
