Community Link: Immigration lawyer talks about new wave of immigrants coming to Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Each week in Community Link, Carolene Mays-Medley and Marco Dominguez take a look at an organization or business that is making a positive impact on the community.

A new wave of immigrants are arriving in Indianapolis and making Indiana their home. Among those arriving, many are professionals in their country of origin.

Swaray Conteh is an immigration lawyer and he stopped by the WISH-TV studios to talk about the new wave of immigrants in the city.

“We have a lot of professionals coming to the United States and seeking asylum and among them are very, very experienced and trained people,” said Conteh.

Conteh earned his bachelor’s degree prior to coming to the country as an immigrant. He talked about the challenges immigrants face and what the Indianapolis business community can do to support these individuals.
